SLP's Goddard a Teacher of the Year Semifinalist

The field of 34 will be whittled down to 10 later this month.

St. Louis Park High School psychology and social studies teacher Greg Goddard is among 34 semifinalists for the Minnesota Teacher of the Year Award. The list was released today by Education Minnesota.

Goddard, who graduated from St. Louis Park High School, has been teaching at the school since 1991. He also serves as the boys golf coach.

A selection panel of 22 community leaders will next whittle the list down from 34 to 10 later this month. The finalists will be invited to a May 6 banquet, where the 2012 Minnesota Teacher of the Year will be announced.
