The school year got off to a rousing start on Monday.
Juniors and seniors, along with staff and faculty, helped welcome in roughly 230 freshmen on orientation day. The new students were greeted in the gym by a row of older students—all cheering and offering high-fives—as well as thumping dance music.
The freshmen then had a full day of fun activities and were able to walk to all of their classes—all in an effort to make them feel comfortable in their new surroundings.
New seventh graders also received a warm welcome of their own in a separate ceremony.
BSM students all start class today. St. Louis Park public school students in grades 1-12 start class in a week, while kindergartners start on Thursday, Sept. 8.
