Park Baseballers Play in National Tourneys with Minnesota Blizzard

Ryan Froom, Jake Lukasavage, Cole Hoyt and Joe Burnley traveled to Las Vegas as players for the Minnesota Blizzard.

Four St. Louis Park High School baseball players shined on the national stage recently, playing in tournaments in Las Vegas as part of the Minnesota Blizzard.

Senior Ryan Froom, Junior Jake Lukasavage, Senior Cole Hoyt, and sophomore Joe Burnley all took part in a pair of national tournaments the first week of November in Las Vegas. The foursome will be returning varsity starters for the 2013 St. Louis Park baseball team.

Hoyt and Froom 's played in the highest senior division and went 7-0 over the three days to capture the national title. Owner Adam Barta skippered the team in a 48-team tournament with teams from California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Washington, Oregon and three other states.

Hoyt, a senior outfielder for Park, banged out 12 hits and swiped 4 bases to lead them to the win. Froom picked up a win on the mound.

Lukasavage was one of the leading hitters for the 16U team he and Burnley played on. He pitched and caught for the team, Burnley also pitched and played outfield and both youngsters stole several bases.
