The Star Tribune reported that after he won Jack said, "It drives me to do the best that I can, knowing people are out there to support me."

After the award was announced on the Courage in Sports Facebook page, good wishes rolled in:

"Congratulations to Jack! You are an inspiration to us all," wrote Susan Lyons Harrison.

"Keep it up Jack, we are all behind you," wrote Vincent Taylor Bonacci.

Kathy Balfanz wrote, "You are our hero, Jack, and such an inspiration. Congratulations! Sending you lots of love and continued prayers."

"We voted for you here in Nashville, TN," wrote Wendie Block Angus.

"Congratulations, Jack! We voted for you from AZ," wrote Carol Neessen.

Lorrie Pipkin Fiteny wrote, "Congratulations from a hockey mom in Michigan! I've followed your story from the beginning and you are truly an inspiration to all!"

"Good for you Jack. I too have followed your story from day 1. You inspire and amaze me on a daily basis. I am proud of you and your family for the courage you have shared with the world. I also thank you for sharing the real and the sad with us. Thank you for smiling so often and for keeping us posted on your journey!" Joelle Bump wrote.

The video of the awards ceremony has not yet been posted. A message posted at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday on the Courage in Sports Facebook page said, "Unfortunately, we are unable to post the entire show online at this time. There is a re-air TOMORROW 11/12 on CBS Sports Net at 9:30pm ET."
