Groves Academy Sees Another Year With 100 Percent Graduation

Seventeen students, all with learning disabilities or attention disorders, graduated this year.

The end of the school year means there is no shortage of graduation ceremonies around the west metro, but the one at Groves Academy is a little bit more exceptional.

The St. Louis Park private school caters to students with learning disabilities and attention disorders, but the 17 students who graduated June 4 gave the school a 100 percent graduation rate, according to a Groves news release.

“Students whose learning disabilities have not been correctly diagnosed and addressed enter Groves doubting their abilities to succeed in school,” the release quoted Head of School John Alexander.

Of the 17 graduating students, who all have learning disabilities or attention disorders, 10 of them are headed immediately to two-year and four-year colleges—including Augsburg College, Hamline University, University of Minnesota-Crookston, Hennepin Technical College and Minneapolis Community and Technical College.
