Former Benilde Hoopster Making Impact at Creighton

Creighton freshman Isaiah Zierden made First-Team All-State and All-Metro honors during his senior year at BSM.

Former Benilde-St. Margaret's basketball standout Isaiah Zierden is starting to make a name for himself outside of Minnesota.

The 2012 First-Team All-State and All-Metro guard is a freshman this season with the Creighton Bluejays—a private university located in Omaha, NE—varsity basketball team.

Bluejays sports website White & Blue Review conducted an interview with Zierden during a recent media day, when he told them a bit about the transition from high school basketball to playing at Division I level.

"It's been a learning process," Zierden said. "In high school you can get away with relaxing on defense every now and then, but in college it's 100 percent all of the time."

Creighton opens its regular season on Nov. 9 against North Texas.
