Echo Receives Gold Crown Award

The Columbia Scholastic Press Association recognized the student newspaper at a March 22 convention.

The Columbia Scholastic Press Association has awarded The Echo, St. Louis Park High School’s student newspaper, a gold crown in the high school newspaper category, the association announced.

The Echo was chosen from among 1,344 digital, newspapers, magazines and yearbooks that were eligible for judging in the 2013 Crown Awards Program. The organization awarded just 77 gold crown awards and just 13 in the high school newspaper category.

The Echo was also the only Minnesota publication honored in the contest.

The association honored winners March 22 at the 89th Scholastic Convention at Columbia University in New York City.

It previously won a gold crown in 2006 and a silver crown in 2012.
