St. Louis Park Resident Among 16 Met Council Appointees

Gov. Mark Dayton pegged Jim Brimeyer earlier this week.

Former St. Louis Park City Councilman and long-time public transportation advocate Jim Brimeyer is among 16 new members of the Met Council.

Gov. Mark Dayton picked Brimeyer and the others on March 2. The appointees have to go through a five-day review period before being formally appointed on Monday.

Met Council operates the Twin Cities bus service and oversees other regional planning initiatives. Brimeyer will be representing District 6, which includes Crystal, Golden Valley, New Hope and St. Louis Park.
