Proudest accomplishment in office:

“My proudest moment in office was passing the Interstate 35W compensation bill,” Winker said. This legislation, which passed in 2008, compensated the 185 victims that were affected by the bridge collapse.

“The state owned that bridge and it was important for the state to step up and help the people that were injured or killed that day,” he said.

As part of the bill, the state contributed $40 million to a compensation fund set up for those affected by the collapse.

Priorities:

“Overall, I want to find common ground for both parties to work on together that strengthens our state,” Winkler said. As part of that overall goal, Winkler says the following are on his to-do list:

  • Make tax codes simpler for people and businesses.
  • Connect high school students with certification programs so they have a technical education as soon as they graduate and can enter the workforce.
  • Increase the amount of research and development from colleges by making grant money more accessible.

Representative Winkler is a very capable legislator who makes the hard decisons constttuents sometimes disagree with. Winkler is well grounded in small business through his legal employment and also a champion of civil rights, education, fiscal responsibility and other progressive ideals. He has continued to earn my vote even when we disagree on some of his votes.

Research the cost of tattoo removal before getting one. You may grow our of it someday. SomeRead More employers have rules about visible tattoos which may inhibit your future career goals. Some employers have been successful with clearly written and enforced policies in not hiring individuals with visible tattoos for public contact positions. Employers with badly written or no policies may have problems leading to potential court challenges but suing you way into a company is not likely to be successful.

Simon's itching for Secretary of State has nothing to do with serving the public. The DemocratRead More Party in this state is much like the Soviet Poliburo of old... pack every office with a hack sycophant. Dayton and the Democrat Party want to make sure they can overrule fair elections, just like Ritchie has done in the past. Only in St. Louis Park could Simon get elected for his senate seat with his "loyal" constituency.

Mike B has posted in other Patches that he wants to close all public schools. He wants to turn this country into a theocracy with "approved" parochial schools and other "approved" private schools.
