How Did SLP Vote in the 2008 Caucuses?
It was Romney's race in 2008—at least locally.
Going in to tonight’s caucuses, Mitt Romney lags a couple points behind Rick Santorum, according to Public Policy Polling analysis conducted Saturday. Yet Minnesota was good to the Republican frontrunner in 2008.
Romney led the Republican pack with 41.4 percent of the vote in the presidential preference ballot conducted at the 2008 caucuses. He also defeated eventual nominee John McCain in St. Louis Park and in Senate District 44.
With the Republican race in Minnesota a statistical dead heat—Santorum's two-point lead is within the ±4.8 percent margin of error—here’s a look at how things shook out the last time Minnesotans headed to the caucuses:
