Former St. Louis Park Mayor Dies In Florida
The Star Tribune reports that 'Mr. St. Louis Park' Lyle Hanks, 82, died in Florida earlier this month.
A man who was a coach, teacher, City Councilman and mayor in St. Louis Park died earlier this month in Vero Beach, FL.
Lyle Hanks, 82, died Nov. 2 of fibrosis of the lungs, according to an obituary in the Star Tribune.
Hanks lived in Florida with his wife, Laura, during the winter, the Star Tribune reported. He was a member of the City Council for 11 years.

He served as mayor from 1982 to 1995, the longest any SLP mayor has been in office consecutively.

“He wanted to see his grandson get married in California, he wanted to see his granddaughter get married in Sartell and he wanted to attend his 60th college reunion at Hamline," his wife told the Star Tribune, and then confirmed that he was able to do all of them before he died.
