City Seeks to Fill Three Commission and Board Openings

There are open spots on the Human Rights Commission, Charter Commission and Police Advisory Commission.

For those interested in becoming more active in St. Louis Park's government or perhaps even looking for a small step towards a big break in politics, there are a few openings.

The city is seeking residents to fill openings on three city boards and commissions: Human Rights Commission, Charter Commission and Police Advisory Commission (Youth commissioner opening).

The HRC advises City Council on topics like equal opportunity and descrimination.

The Charter Commission manages the City Home Rule Charter -- effectively the city's constitution -- and legislative activites. These commissioners must be appointed by the Chief Judge of Hennepin County District Court.

The Youth commissioner opening on the Police Advisory Commission helps provide citizen involvement in police department services and affairs.
