On the ballot for the Presidency, Gov. Gary Johnson (Libertarian) and Dr. Jill Stein (Green). Make a special note to remember to watch the Free and Equal Election Debate between third party candidates, Gov. Gary Johnson and Dr. Jill Stein to be aired tonight on Monday evening, Nov. 5th from 9:00 - 10:30 pm Eastern Time. Perform a worthwhile civic duty, and be certain to listen in on this historic debate so that you can make an informed decision on voting day. Third party candidates who will be on the ballot in most states deserve to be heard. http://freeandequal.org/?v=1

Kevira Voegele, this is not a question regarding debate over Amendment 1 (The Marriage Amendment), but rather a concern for your incorrect wording of this amendment as "The Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment" listed above in your 2012 St. Louis Park Election Guide. This is a false distortion of the amendment name. Please change this at once and please have this changed in the Edina edition of The Patch as well which has listed this incorrectly since June 15, 2012. Apparently you supervise editors at the Edina Patch too. Kevira Voegele, an amendment should be listed with the accurate name. No bias interjection needed, just the facts. In your St. Louis Park Patch profile you list your beliefs as the following: My Beliefs (By Kevira Voegele) At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for us to inject our beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that our beliefs are on the record will cause us to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.

Hi @Frances Steck. No bias was intended. Your first comment was lost in all the other comments we received this past weekend. As you can see, there have been many. The title on this guide is not the same thing as the title on the official ballot (which yes, has changed more than once). Likewise, the candidate information is not listed exactly as it is on the ballot. I have, however, changed the title to read simply "marriage amendment" instead of "anti-gay marriage amendment."
