On Sunday morning at , police officers from around the area remembered St. Louis Park officer Mike Pollitz, who at the age of 37 after suffering cardiac arrest while on duty.
Squad cars lined the streets around the school, and two rows of St. Louis Park officers lined the steps up to the door, awaiting the arrival of Pollitz's urn. On 33rd Street and Dakota Avenue, two firetruck ladders were extended high into the sky, hanging an American flag over the intersection below.
Pollitz, who had been with the department since 2005, is survived by his wife, Ilana, and two young children. Donations for the family may be directed to:
