Traffic Stop Leads to Manhunt, Arrest

Officers searched in St. Louis Park and Plymouth on Sunday night for a suspect fleeing on foot.

A routine traffic stop turned into a , resulting in one man getting arrested and another person escaping custody.

The manhunt happened in the area of Highway 169 and Shelard Parkway on the border of Plymouth and St. Louis Park.

A 33-year-old man was arrested early Monday morning, according to records, and released Tuesday. Specific charges are not yet listed.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office reports that officers pulled the man over in a routine traffic stop, but learned the vehicle had been stolen. The man fled into a nearby wooded, residential area, setting of a police search that involved multiple squad cars and a police chopper hovering overhead.

A sheriff's office K-9 was able to apprehend the man—who is also a suspect in several metro area burglaries—in the woods near Saratoga Lane in Plymouth.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is heading the investigation and local police are helping the office locate a second suspect, who was in the car with the 33-year-old man.
