Blotter: Motorcycle Keyed, Jewelry Swiped

Also, police responded to an attempted burglary on Joppa Avenue South.

Editor's Note: The following incidents occurred between July 9-11, and were included in the  most recent weekly report, sent out on July 19. Specific details come from individual incident reports maintained by the department.

July 9 - A 55-year-old man reported to police that his motorcycle had been keyed while parked in the garage at his home in the 7700 block of 13th Lane. The man said he thought the garage door was locked, though he noted that he sometimes left the main door open. The damage was estimated at $1,000. The man said he didn't know anyone who would want to get even with him. No suspects have been identified.

July 9 - Police responded to an attempted burglary in the 3800 block of Joppa Avenue South. An unknown suspect attempted to gain access by prying off a screen door, but was unsuccessful. Nothing was reported stolen.

July 11 - A 47-year-old man told police he came home to his residence in the 4100 block of Toledo Avenue South to find the back door's window smashed out. A rock was found inside the door and was likely thrown though. Roughly $1,700 worth of jewelry was stolen. No suspects have been identified.
