Blotter: A Spitting Match at a Local Convenience Store

Also, police were called about several stolen vehicles in St. Louis Park.

Editor's Note: The following incidents occurred between Aug. 4 and Aug. 9, and were included in the  most recent weekly report, sent out on Aug. 15. Specific details come from individual incident reports maintained by the department.

Aug. 4 - Police were called to the 4300 block of Park Glen Road on a reported car theft. The Honda Accord wagon was later recovered in Minneapolis and returned to the owner. No suspects have been identified.

Aug. 4 - A 34-year-old man reported that someone had attempted to break into his home in the 4800 block of West 41st Street. The man found that the screen door on his porch had been cut through, and someone apparently entered the porch. No entry was gained into the house, however, and nothing was reported stolen. No suspects have been identified.

Aug. 5 - Police were called to an apartment in the 3200 block of Inglewood Avenue on a report of a burglary. The tenant, a 26-year-old woman, said she had been out of town for a week and returned to find several pieces of jewelry missing, as well as a bottle of wine and a box of frozen hamburgers from her freezer. The front door appeared to have been pried open. No suspects have been identified.

Aug. 5 - A 38-year-old man reported that his Toyota Rav 4 had been stolen from his driveway in the 3000 block of Rhode Island Avenue. He said the vehicle was unlocked and keys were inside. The vehicle was later recovered and an arrest made in Washington County.

Aug. 6 - A 30-year-old man reported that someone broke into his car in the 2200 block of Nevada Avenue South. The man said he thought it was locked, but there were no signs of forced entry. Stolen were his stereo, a laptop and an iPad. No suspects have been identified.

Aug. 6 - Police were called to , located at 8242 Minnetonka Blvd., because of an altercation between the owner and a 21-year-old male customer. The customer said he and the owner had been yelling at each other over a previous incident and the customer spit at the owner. The owner then spit back. The owner said he and the customer had been in arguments several times before. Neither wanted to press charges. The customer was escorted off the property.

Aug. 8 - A 24-year-old woman reported that her silver Dodge Stratus had been stolen from a lot in the 5600 block of Minnetonka Boulevard. The vehicle has not been recovered, and no suspects have been identified.

Aug. 9 - Police were called to Oak Hill Park on a theft report. A 42-year-old woman, who is associated with the St. Louis Park Soccer Association, said her laptop had been stolen from a room in the concession area. Only a few people have keys to the room, the woman told police. No suspects have been identified.
