SLP Parking Ban in Effect, Benilde is Closed Today

Residents must keep their vehicles off the road until streets are plowed curb to curb.

The heavy snowfall overnight prompted St. Louis Park to declare a parking ban in effect just before 1 a.m.

The city declares a parking ban as soon as snow accumulation reaches three inches—whatever time of day that happens to be.

On-street parking is prohibited any time during a parking ban until streets have been plowed curb to curb. Owners of cars that are on city streets after 3 inches of snow fall can receive a:

  • Minimum $30 parking ticket, 
  • $115.00 minimum towing charge plus administrative fees (with additional charges if the vehicle must be shoveled out or weighs more than a ton) and
  • $30 storage fee per day.

Benilde

Benilde-St. Margaret's has declared a snow day Tuesday, according to the district's website.

Winter Storm Saturn

St. Louis Park remains under a winter storm warning through 6 p.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service predicts that total nighttime snow accumulation could range from four to eight inches, with a further two to four inches possible in the morning.
