SLP Man Fired for Talk About Using an AK-47 to 'Pop Off' Methodist Hospital Co-Workers

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office declined to press charges.

A Methodist Hospital employee was fired on Dec. 19 after making comments to co-workers about bringing an AK-47 into the office to “pop” people off.

The St. Louis Park man, upset about the security of his job, had vented to co-workers earlier in the month.

The co-workers reflected on the man’s “odd personality,” gun ownership and frequent rudeness to colleagues and decided to report the man’s comment to the hospital’s security department.
