SLP Man Charged With Punching, Concussing Woman Who Took His Headphones

He faces up to 90 days behind bars.

A St. Louis Park man is accused of punching a woman in the face for taking his headphones, causing a concussion.

Jalen Marquis Hinkle, 19, is charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of disorderly conduct.

According to the criminal complaint:

Around 5 p.m. on Oct. 20, Hinkle was talking with the woman near his Courtyard Apartments home.

Hinkle told the woman she had taken his headphones and then “insulted and intimidated” her, according to the complaint.

He then punched her on the left side of her head and on her left eye.

A doctor told the woman she had sustained a concussion and a black eye.

He faces up to 90 days behind bars and a $1,000 fine.
