SLP Man in Critical Condition After Shooting

The incident occurred Thursday afternoon in the 9300 block of Cedar Lake Road in St. Louis Park.

St. Louis Park police are looking for a man who reportedly shot a resident after a botched burglary attempt Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 2 p.m. at 9339 Cedar Lake Rd.

Police say they believe the resident likely returned home to find a burglary in progress and was then shot. Property records list the homeowner as Eric Zahniser, and multiple media reports have identified Zahniser as the victim.

A man with that name was reported to be in critical condition Thursday night, according to a Hennepin County Medical Center spokeswoman.

The suspect has been identified as a black male with dreadlocks, wearing a gray hoodie and stocking cap. A suspect vehicle has been identified as a 1990s vintage Pontiac Grand Am or similar type vehicle, white in color, with blue flames or decals on the sides and hood.
