She said she was afraid since she had previously injured her neck and had been told by a doctor that certain movements could leave her paralyzed.

She escaped from Kowarsch, locking herself in her bathroom and calling 911 on her cell phone.

When she told Kowarsch she was calling police, he said when the police were gone, he would return and kill her.

She then heard Kowarsch pulled her Internet cable out of the wall.

When he left and she emerged from the bathroom, her laptop computer and $210 in cash were missing.

Kowarsch was convicted of fifth-degree misdemeanor assault in June 2004 and of violating domestic abuse no contact orders in April and March of 2011.

He is being held on $40,000 bail and faces up to five years behind bars.
