Man Claiming to be Katy Perry's Husband and a 'St. Police Prodigy' Arrested at Knollwood Mall

The man was cited for impersonating a police officer but has not been charged.

A St. Paul man who claimed to be married to Katy Perry was asked to leave Knollwood Mall earlier this month after threatening to hit customers in T.J. Maxx, washing his hair in the sink of the Regis Salon and telling security he was a St. Paul police officer.

The 26-year-old, who had a blood alcohol percentage of .22, was arrested and cited for impersonating a police officer.

When St. Louis Park police arrived, around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 12, the man was in the common area of the mall. A computer records check showed he had been disciplined for gangster activity.

Police told him that impersonating a police officer was a crime and asked if he was making false statements because he was intoxicated.

“I’m a St. Police Prodigy,” the man replied.

He claimed to be famous and that Katy Perry was his wife before offering police sexual favors in exchange for his release. He also said that he had wreaked havoc in the mall because he did not have a winter coat.

The man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.
