Man Charged for Attempted Robbery in St. Louis Park

The incident occurred at the Woodfire Grill, 6501 Wayzata Blvd.

A Minneapolis man has been charged for allegedly trying to rob an employee of a St. Louis Park restaurant earlier this month.

Matthew Raymond Jordan, 20, faces a felony count of second-degree aggravated robbery, as well as a felony narcotics charge for cocaine allegedly found on him at the time of his arrest.

According to a criminal complaint, Jordan approached a man who was leaving his shift at the Woodfire Grill, 6501 Wayzata Blvd., and walking into the parking lot at around 10:45 p.m. on Oct. 15. Jordan allegedly demanded $20 from the man and said he would kill him if he didn't have it.

When the restaurant employee tried to go back inside, Jordan allegedly blocked his path, then shoved him and threatened to kill him again. Jordan also put his hands in his jacket like he was reaching for a weapon, and the victim said he feared Jordan had a knife, the complaint states.

Jordan then fled on foot, according to the complaint. Officers working additional duty at that night later spotted a man matching Jordan's description inside a restricted tent in the area. Jordan was tracked down and arrested.
