Man Arrested in St. Louis Park Charged with Murder

He's charged in connection with the death of a Minneapolis man who died from gunshot wounds on July 6.

A 22-year-old Robbinsdale man arrested on August 1 in St. Louis Park is accused of shooting a 21-year-old Minneapolis man to death.

Marlon Rashaad Robertson has been charged with one count of felony second-degree murder and two counts of felony attempted murder in the late June incident.

Around 7:30 p.m. on June 24, a man was shot multiple times on the 2100 block of of West Broadway in Minneapolis. He died on July 6 of the gunshot wounds.

A few days after the shooting, Robertson sold a handgun, telling the buyer that he knew it worked since he had recently "emptied it," according to a Minneapolis Police Department press release.

The ballistics on the handgun matched the bullets found in the murdered Minneapolis man.

Police said that "distinctive footwear" matching the description of the shooter's shoes given by witnesses was found in Robertson's home.

In a post-arrest interview, Robertson told police that a man standing near the murder victim was "a snitch."

Robertson is in custody in Hennepin County Jail.
