Hopkins Man Found Crawling Around SLP Home, Charged With Burglary

A child staying at the house discovered the suspect.

A 19-year-old Hopkins man faces a felony burglary charge after he was reportedly found crawling on the floor of a St. Louis Park home.

Adai Rajihi Williams was charged with the single criminal count Tuesday in Hennepin County Court.

According to a criminal complaint, a child staying over with friends at a house in the 6000 block of Meadowbrook Boulevard on Sunday night went to get a glass of water and spotted someone crawling on the kitchen floor. The man, later identified as Williams by the child, allegedly put his finger to his mouth and motioned for the child to be quiet. Williams then allegedly left the house.

The homeowner called police, and when officers arrived, they found that a ground floor window was opened and a screen was sliced. The homeowner said the screen was fine when she went to bed.

Officers apprehended Williams near the scene. He made his first court appearance on Wednesday. No future court dates have been set.

Nothing was reported stolen during the alleged break-in.
