Boyfriend Arrested in Death of Woman Found Wrapped in Sheets in St. Louis Park
Thompson has not yet been charged in the death of his 46-year-old girlfriend, whose body was found Tuesday behind a Cedar Lake Road business.
A Minneapolis man has been arrested in the death of a 46-year-old woman whose body was found, wrapped in sheets, behind a Cedar Lake Road business on Tuesday.
Walter Thompson III, 54, was arrested around 1 p.m. today by St. Louis Park police, who suspect him of the second-degree homicide of his long-time girlfriend, Nerissa Annette Shaw, 46, also of Minneapolis. Thompson has not yet been charged.
Shaw’s body was found in a small grassy area behind Angstrom Analytical Inc., at 5001 Cedar Lake Road.

“The woman's body displayed injuries consistent with a severe beating, particularly on and about the face and head,” St. Louis Park spokesman Jamie Zwilling wrote in an email.
Shaw and Thompson had been involved “in a long and violent relationship” with a “frequent history of domestic violence,” Zwilling said.

Thompson is currently on probation for violating an order for protection involving Shaw.
Court records show he has a lengthy criminal history, including multiple charges of indecent exposure, criminal sexual conduct and domestic assault.
Thompson was arrested at 15 E. Grant St. in Minneapolis after a search conducted by multiple police agencies.
