Blotter: Police Respond to Several Area Thefts

In one incident, $8,400 worth of property was stolen from a St. Louis Park apartment.

Editor's Note: The following incidents occurred between Aug. 5 and Aug. 11, and were included in the most recent weekly report, sent out on Aug. 18. Specific details come from individual incident reports maintained by the department.

Aug. 5 – The owner of Detail Residential Services, 6225 Cambridge St., reported that his business was broken into and a computer stolen. Police found the front window shattered, and also found some blood on the glass and an inside wall. There are no known witnesses and no suspects have been identified.

Aug. 7 – A 30-year-old man reported that his vehicle was stolen from his driveway overnight in the 9400 block of West 14th Street. The man said the vehicle was unlocked and he believes a spare set of keys were in the center console. No suspects have been identified.

Aug. 8 – An 83-year-old woman told police that her home in the 2700 block of Idaho Avenue was broken into while she was working in the lawn. The woman said she didn’t see anyone enter or exit her home while she was outside, but she did hear a side door slam. She then went inside and discovered her purse missing. The purse contained several credit cards, as well as $200 cash. No suspects have been identified.

Aug. 8 – An employee at , 3505 Lousiana Ave., reported that a 42-inch TV, valued at $1,400, was stolen from the office’s lobby. The employee said there was no receptionist in that day, and all other workers were back with patients, leaving the lobby area empty. There are no surveillance cameras in the building and no suspects have been identified.

Aug. 8 – A rental vehicle was broken into in the parking lot, and a $200 Kindle, a $400 laptop and an iPod were reported stolen. No suspects have been identified.

Aug. 10 – A 66-year-old man reported that a $2,500 gold necklace and a $500 pendant were stolen from his gym bag in the locker room while he was changing. No suspects have been identified.

Aug. 11 – A 29-year-old woman reported to police that her apartment in the 3200 block of Inglewood Avenue was broken into while she was away the previous few days. The woman said the front door was broken and her clothes were strewn across the house when she arrived home. A number of items were reported stolen, including a computer and jewelry. The total value of the stolen items is roughly $8,400. No suspects have been identified.
