Blotter: Delivery Man Robbed, Cars Stolen From Dealership

St. Louis Park police also responded to a case of vandalism at a local bus service shop.

Editor's Note: The following incidents occurred between March 7 and March 14, and were included in the St. Louis Park Police Department's most recent weekly report, sent out on March 21. Specific details come from individual incident reports maintained by the department.

March 7 - A delivery man was aggressively approached by two men after he dropped off a pizza in the 4100 block of Meadowbrook Lane, and the delivery man fled without getting paid. The delivery man, 50, said he told the first man the price of the pizza, to which the man said, "No it isn't." The second man then approached the delivery man, prompting him to nervously say, "What are you doing?" The second man said "Don't yell," then grabbed the delivery man. The delivery man pulled away and the second man slipped on ice. The delivery man then ran to his car and drove away.

The delivery man later told police he thought he would've been assaulted had he not ran away. He described the first suspect as a 6-foot tall black male, of average build, in his mid-20s, with gold or possibly silver teeth. He said the second suspect was a black male, standing about 6 feet, 4 inches, of a slender build, with white shoes and dark clothing.

Police went to the residence and spoke with a male tenant, who said he had been sleeping and didn't order a pizza. The male did not match either suspect description. The suspects could not be located in the area.

March 7 -  Police responded to the 2700 block of Utica Avenue on a report of a garage break-in. A 27-year-old woman said someone kicked in her entry gate, then entered her unlocked garage and rummaged through her unlocked car. Stolen were her driver's license and several credit cards. No suspects have been identified.

March 8 - A car was reported stolen from outside a home in the 1400 block of Hampshire Avenue South. The car's owner, a 32-year-old woman, said the vehicle was stolen overnight. The car is a 1995 white Honda Accord, with two bumper stickers on the back. No suspects have been identified.

March 9 - A woman, 41, working in an office suite in the 5000 block of Excelsior Boulevard said someone stole her $2,500 watch and her wallet while she stepped away from the office. No suspects have been identified.

March 12 - An employee at reported that someone had cut slices into multiple seats of 24 buses, resulting in roughly $1,000 worth of damage. No suspects have been identified.

March 12 - A vehicle was reported stolen from after a man drove off during a test drive. An employee said he had gone inside to get a dealer plate when the suspect drove off headed east on Wayzata Boulevard. The employee described the man as black, in his mid-40s, weighing about 200 pounds, and having a "thick African accent." The vehicle is a green 2007 Chrysler Pacifica with tinted windowns.

March 14 - Police again responded to Jim Lupient's Bargain Lot on a report of a stolen vehicle. An employee said a white 1997 Chevy Tahoe was stolen off the lot after the business shut down the previous day and before it opened this day. The vehicle's keys were still inside the dealership. No suspects have been identified.
