Area Man Charged For Trying to Rob St. Louis Park Subway

The incident in question occurred Sept. 22.

A Robbinsdale man has been charged in Hennepin County Court for allegedly trying to rob a St. Louis Park restaurant in September.

Christopher Tron Peters, 41, was charged with attempted aggravated robbery in the first degree, which is a felony, last week. He is currently in custody on $75,000 bail, with a Dec. 12 court date scheduled.

According to a criminal complaint, Peters entered the Subway at 8128 Highway 7 at around 10:45 p.m. on Sept. 22. He allegedly pointed to a bulge in his pants, implying that he had a gun.

Peters then pulled out a large flashlight and demanded money from the register, the complaint states. He allegedly began banging the cash register with his flashlight, saying he'd come around if he didn't get cash.

The clerk took out a phone and said he was calling police. Peters allegedly said he was going to get a gun and kill the clerk and his whole family, then ran out of the store. The clerk saw Peters get into a very distinctive white, 2012 Chevrolet HHR that had electrical tape over some of the letters and numbers on the license plate, the complaint states.

On Wednesday, police found Peters driving the car the clerk described. He was arrested and taken to jail.

In addition to the St. Louis Park case, Peters has been charged for a at a Maple Grove Subway on Halloween night.
