Good neighborhoods in the STL area??

Hello! My family and I have just recently moved out here to the STL area, and we are trying to find a home to rent, but are unsure of what towns/areas are nice family friendly neighborhoods, or even what areas are NOT. My husband works right in Delmar blvd, and are looking to live somewhere no more than about 30 minutes from there. Any info would help!! We have 2 small children and my husband is gone a lot for work, so I'm looking for neighborhoods that are "safe". Thbakyou!!
