PLANNING FOR SLP'S PARKTACULAR 2014 TO KICK OFF SEPTEMBER 11

The meeting to kick off planning for Parktacular 2014 is Wednesday, September 11, from 7- 9 p.m. at the St. Louis Park Recreation Center, in the Banquet Room. Organizers are looking for fresh faces to join the committee in various roles, including sales, operations and administration. Anyone may attend to learn more about becoming involved or to offer ideas or suggestions.

The planning committee has an immediate need for Food Garden Coordinator, Button/Coupon Committee Chair, Door Prize Coordinator, Fundraising Assistant, and General Planning Committee members. Complete job descriptions will be available at the meeting, and can later be found at parktacular.org.

The Planning Committee meets on the second Wednesday of every month, from 7-9 p.m. in The Rec Center Gallery Room, 3700 Monterey Drive. Meetings are held twice monthly beginning in May, leading up to the June event. Planning Committee volunteers are expected to attend and contribute as often as possible. The public is welcome to attend to offer ideas or suggestions.

St. Louis Park Parktacular (June 12-15, 2014) is St. Louis Park’s largest and longest running annual community festival, with four days of events to celebrate summer in the city. Taking place in Wolfe Park and other St. Louis Park locations, events include the Grand Day Parade, Block Party, Inflatable Waterslide Rides, Kids and Family Events, Trade Show, a Food Garden and much more.
