Spreading the Love for Jack Jablonski

Sussex High School in Wisconsin came together and signed a card in hope of a miracle. This one is for you, Jabby, #13.

Just this past weekend the hockey community was struck by tragic news. A young man by the name of Jack Jablonski was hit from behind into the boards, causing him to become motionless on the ice. Jack is a 16 year-old sophomore at . Jablonski has been receiving unbelievable amounts of support from around the country, some even coming from players from the National Hockey League.

Now trending on Twitter, the hashtag “#jabs” has become a popular tag. People all around the country are supporting and sending their wishes to Jack. Standing by him is his father Mike, mother Leslie and younger brother Max, along with the thousands of supporters that surround him in warmth.

Back in Minnesota is where he has found most of his fans and supporters, but at a small high school called Sussex Hamilton (in Wisconsin, 20 minutes from Milwaukee) students have heard and understood Jack's situation. Once students learned about Jack's injuries, they immediately became fans and supportive of the man they call “Jabby.” These are kids that do not even know Jack, much less know the game of hockey, but with much love and kindness they want to reach out and be supportive.

A student at Hamilton, Zach Geis, says, “It's really hard to see anyone go through this, everyone always knows the possibilities, but you never imagine it would happen to anyone you know. It's shocking to see someone play at such a competitive level, set goals so high and in an instance have everything change for them.”

Many students at Hamilton have signed a card that will shortly be on its way to Jack. This was their way of showing that they care and have faith in Jack. From students to teachers, they have sent their love to #13.

Geis says, “It was really something to see all the people sign the card, especially when no one really knows Jack from any stand point, it just shows how people feel for his situation”

Jack has undergone surgery to repair his spinal injury, with little movement, but still it is too early to tell if he will regain full motion. With the BIG heart Jack has, people are hoping and praying for a miracle.
