Park Bantam B1 Hockey on A Roll

The St. Louis Park BB1 boys hockey team has gone 7-5-1 since January 1 including winning the Rochester Silver Championship recently. The BB1's are 13-15 year old players.
Dario Orr notched 29 saves and Brent Ryan scored the lone goal in an opening round loss to Inver Grove.
The team then destroyed Alexandria 7-1.  The Orioles outshot Alex 40-13. Billy Nicholls led the attack with two unassisted goals and an assist and Blake Neudecker added a pair of assists and Ben Bakken, Erik Haroldson, John Brask, all notched goals and Austin Stafne added an unassisted goal. Alex Brigino turned away 12 saves in net. 
Brenden Donahue's goal with three minutes remaining gave the O's a 2-1 come from behind decision over Forest Lake. Ryan earned the assist. 
Skyler Burns-Goetzman scored an unassisted goal with seven minutes remaining to tie the game.  Orr stopped 19 of 20 shots as goalie and held Forest Lake at bay until Park rallied in the last period.Coach Andy Mair declared the team "played its best game of the tourney," in this game.
 In the title game, Park hammered Rochester 6-1.  Sam Baker scored two goals and Donahue and Stafne had two assists.  Thomas Hames had a goal and an assist. Neudecker, Haroldson and Nicholls also scored goals and Bakken added a helper. Brigino made 24 saves on 25 shots for a 96% save percentage to earn the win as goalie.
In recent District three play, Park tied highly ranked Minneapolis 3-3, defeated Blake 1-0, and tamed Mound 5-3.  Nicholls added three goals and two assists to his team-leading total. Grant Plender and Connor Johnson also have helped the team be successful,
Defenseman Skyler Burns-Goetzman was mentioned by the coaches for his work ethic, speed and puck-carrying ability. 
Head Coach is Andy Mair and he is assisted by Jeff Harris, Jeff Warren and Jimmy Kohler.
District Three tournaments are beginning in mid-February for St. Louis Park teams.
