Vote Gregg: Keep the Parks in the Park

I am a Parks and Rec guy.  I currently work for a local government agency providing suburban parks and trails.  As a young teenager, I was hired by the City of St Louis Park to work in Parks and Recreation — my first job. My passion for our parks and the outdoors began with these experiences, leading me to a career in local government with an environmental agency.

I believe our community is designed to provide access to and opportunities for us to experience the outdoors, providing each of us with a social and economic benefit. It is our responsibility as a community to preserve our parks and natural resources for generations to come.

From water quality to urban forestry to invasive species management – a comprehensive commitment to environmental sustainability will only increase the vibrancy of the Park.  We are fortunate to have the network of Parks and Trails we all enjoy in our community.  I look forward to ensuring an even better tomorrow for the next generation of St. Louis Park to enjoy the wonders of nature in our suburban environment.

Further, I am excited about the opportunities that alternative modes of transportation pose to the Park and our region.  We have a robust network of regional trails that provide for recreational and transportation alternatives that promote vibrant communities.  To that end, I believe it is in St Louis Park’s best interest to ensure accessibility to the regional trail system, giving our residents additional choices in getting to work or having a good time.
