As you guitar-slingers may know, it’s easy to overcome your initial jitters after you've been up on stage once —all that can all be learned in 4 weeks.  But the one thing that’s a little more difficult to learn is WHAT TO DO while you are ON-STAGE… Oftentimes your banter, movements and stage presence can make up for a less than perfect performance-The audience will forget the wrong chord but they won't forget your blank stare!  Stagecraft is no different than musical ability; it takes time, practice and good instruction! I'm here to tell ya, brothers & sisters, we're here to help ya learn how to move up on that stage!

On Saturday, January 12th, Rock Camp for Dads is partnering with Kaity Heart to present a Stage Performance Workshop!!

Topics covered will include:

  • Stage fashion

  • Building confidence

  • Memorization techniques

  • Stage banter

  • Improvisation under pressure

  • Loading in and out

  • Instrument preparation

  • Sound Checking and monitor levels

  • Recovering from a trainwreck during a song.

The Stage Performance Workshop will start at 10 am and have an open discussion until noon.

Kaity’s Rock n’ Roll resume is impressive as she’s performed with Surly Jones and numerous other local and regional band for years, has television acting experience and is currently with the ever popular Glitter Gun. Kaity will be assisted by RCFD’s own Nathan Kinney who will cover some of the technical aspects of performing for an audience, as well as proper stage etiquette for working with other musicians.  These two are waiting to make you the center of the show!

The cost for this Workshop is $20 for RCFD alumni and $25 for non-alumni.  Seating is limited so you need to SIGN UP TODAY to secure your spot and hone your on-stage skills!  Contact Denise at denise@rockcampfordads.com or 612-819-6722.  What are you waiting for?  The only thing at stake here is your audience!  So grab their attention and please their ears!  It’s up to you!
