St. Louis Park Teen Found Guilty of Murder

St. Louis Park teenager Michael Swanson was found guilty of first-degree murder and first-degree robbery Thursday in an Iowa courtroom for , according to multiple reports.

Swanson, 18, is looking at life in prison, the Des Moines Register reports. He was 17 when he killed Shelia Myers, 61, at a Kum & Go in Humboldt on Nov. 15, but Swanson was tried as an adult.

The teenager also allegedly murdered a second store clerk, 47-year-old Vicky Bowman-Hall, the same night in a town about 25 miles from Humboldt. He will stand trial in that case next month.

The defense had argued that Swanson was insane when he shot the two women, but the jury on Thursday spent less than an hour deliberating, according to reports.
