(UPDATED) Teen Could Face Charges for St. Louis Park Crash

A 16-year-old boy reportedly drove down Flag Avenue at 60 mph as part of a "challenge."

A teenager could face charges after allegedly speeding down Flag Avenue at around 60 mph and slamming into another vehicle Wednesday night.

The 16-year old boy told officers he was attempting the "Flag Challenge," according to a police report. The teenager said the "Flag Challenge" involves drivers trying to make it down the length of the street as fast as possible.

The report states that the teenager hit a vehicle being driven by Mark Raymond Sheehan, 59, as he was pulling out of the at around 10:30 p.m. The teenager's vehicle then slid under Sheehan's car, causing it to overturn onto its roof.

Both drivers and four passengers—three other 16-year-olds and 49-year-old Lynn Castoldi—were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with various injuries. Witness Tom Witta said all the crash victims appeared to be conscious after the accident.

A St. Louis Park police spokeswoman said the Hennepin County Attorney's Office will be reviewing the case for possible charges against the 16-year-old driver.
