Area Bank Robber Admits He Tried to Steal From a SLP Business, Too

Donte McKinley Hollister faces a maximum of 25 years in jail.

A Minneapolis man who pleaded guilty to bank robbery today said he also tried to steal cash from a St. Louis Park business last October.

Donte McKinley Hollister, 30, pleaded guilty to one count of armed bank robbery in federal court. 

Hollister admitted that on Oct. 17, 2011, he used a handgun to rob nearly $2,000 from the US Bank located at 2338 Central Ave. in Minneapolis. Four days earlier, he attempted to steal cash from 2nd Wind Exercise Equipment in St. Louis Park, again while wielding a gun.

Hollister also stole $500 in cash from two other local stores in September 2011, and attempted to steal cash from a third in October 2011, according to a United States Attorney’s Office press release.

He faces a potential maximum penalty of 25 years in prison. Sentencing will be completed at a future hearing.
