Loved Ones Remember Harland Dietrich on His Birthday

Dietrich died Feb. 2 when his vehicle went through the ice on Lake Minnetonka. He would've turned 32 last week.

Loved ones set aside some time last week to remember a St. Louis Crave employee who died Feb. 2 after his vehicle went through the ice on Lake Minnetonka.

Harland Dietrich went through the ice with his grandmother, who also died, and would have turned 32 last week. Friends and family took to the Facebook page In Loving Memory Of Harland Dietrich to wish him a happy birthday.

“Happy Birthday Harland!! I wish you were here to celebrate your 32nd birthday. Miss you buddy!! Rest peacefully, my friend,” the page administrator wrote.

Two days earlier, the man described going to the spot where Dietrich’s vehicle went through the ice.

“There's open water now where your car went through the ice,” he wrote. “It stills seems so unreal, even more so now that the water is unfreezing. Miss you like crazy buddy. Happy Birthday!!”

Heidi Herrington made a cake for Dietrich.

“I'm making you a birthday cake and I'm going to put 32 candles on it. I'm really excited about making it, even though your not here which makes me very (sad) inside,” she wrote.
