Highway 169 to Temporarily Close This Weekend

MnDOT will close 169 between County Road 62 and Excelsior Boulevard for bridge demolition.

The effects will undoubtedly be less dire than those predicted for California’s “Carmageddon,” but local drivers should still plan ahead if their route takes them along Highway 169 this weekend.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will completely close Highway 169 between County Road 62 and Excelsior Boulevard to remove the Bren Road bridge.

The highway will be fully shutdown in both directions from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday while crews work around the clock to demolish the bridge and remove debris.
