City Parking Ban in Effect

The ban will remain in effect until St. Louis Park streets are plowed curb to curb.

With the Twin Cities being hit by a massive snowstorm Sunday and Monday, St. Louis Park's automatic parking ban is in effect.

The city bans parking any time snowfall hits three inches. The ban will remain in effect until St. Louis Park streets are plowed curb to curb. Cars that are left on city streets can be ticketed or towed.

Additionally, the city has announced that garbage and recycling collection will be delayed one day this week due to the winter storm.

The storm brought 13.4 inches of snow to the Twin Cities, according to a measurement made at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. It's the second time this winter that a foot or more has fallen at once — the first time that's happened since the winter of 1991, which featured the infamous Halloween Blizzard.

Aided by the two massive snowfalls, this season's snow total is at 74.5 inches, according to the National Weather Service. That makes it already the 11th snowiest Twin Cities winter on record.
