Eight-Story Fall Kills Window Washer in St. Louis Park

The name of the worker hasn't been released.

A window washer fell eight stories to his death Friday afternoon in St. Louis Park.

The accident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. at the , 3630 Phillips Parkway, which is near the intersection of Highway 169 and 36th Street.

It is believed the victim, a still-unidentified male, fell from the top of the eight-story building, which houses 151 units for independent senior living. The accident took place on the west side of the building, which faces Highway 169. Investigators are looking into how the accident happened.

City spokesman Jamie Zwilling said it was the second fatality involving a window washer in St. Louis Park in the last few years, the other occurring at .

No one else was injured in Friday's accident.

Zwilling said it may take a day or two before the identity of the victim is released.
