"I am thrilled to be joining Partners in Healing!  It is just the type of practice I have been looking for - one that emphasizes holistic, client-centered care," said Dr. Rinker.

Dr. Rinker (formerly Schiess) is a board certified nurse practitioner in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. She primarily provides psychiatric assessments/consultations and medication management services. However, her approach to psychiatry is holistic and collaborative, believing that medication is one piece of a comprehensive plan that may also include therapy, complementary and alternative medicine, exercise, spirituality, recreation, and social supports.  She has a particular interest in the developing field of nutritional psychiatry.

Dr. Rinker has practiced in schools, residential facilities, partial hospitalization programs, and community health centers, but she most enjoys the outpatient setting because it affords her the time and flexibility to get to know her clients.  Dr. Rinker has experience treating a range of conditions, including mood and anxiety disorders, ADD/ADHD, developmental disorders, trauma, eating disorders, and severe and persistent mental illness.

Dr. Rinker earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Minnesota.  She also completed the Neuroscience Education Institute's Master Psychopharmacology Program.

Dr. David Alter, PhD, LP and Dr. Deborah Simmons, PhD, LMFT, co-owners of Partners in Healing of Minneapolis, said, "We are very excited to welcome Dr. Rinker.  She will be a wonderful addition to our team serving children, teens, and adults.”

Serving the entire Twin Cities, Partners in Healing of Minneapolis provides a variety of mental health and healing services to patients in its Minnetonka clinic.  The team includes psychologists, marriage and family therapists, social workers, neuropsychologists, acupuncturists, and craniosacral therapists.  The clinic is located at 10505 Wayzata Boulevard in Minnetonka, MN.
