Winmark Corp. CEO Joins Canterbury Board

John Morgan, the CEO of St. Louis Park's Winmark Corporation, has been added to the Canterbury Park board of directors. Morgan owns a 9.4 percent stake in Canterbury Park and has been Winmark’s chairman and CEO since March 2000, according to Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal. Morgan is an avid poker player, playing in tournaments around the country. He also bought Warren Buffett's childhood home more than a year ago, according to the Journal.

Winmark Corp. brand names include Once Upon A Child, Play It Again Sports, Plato's Closet and Music Go Round.

HealthPartners and Park Nicollet Health Services officially merged two Twin Cities health care giants earlier this month.

The combined entity, which will operate under the HealthPartners name, is now the state's second-largest hospital system behind the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, according to the Star Tribune. Little will change for patients and members, the groups say.

Ciel Loft & Home, located at 4416 Excelsior Blvd., encourages shoppers on their Facebook page to "Be one of the cool kids who can say I was there when it was just getting started."

Staff says items for purchase are authentic, design-quality furniture and accessories at a price middle America can afford. Although the home accessories and furniture sold are for an American audience, products are sourced from around the world.
