St. Louis Park-Based Buffalo Wild Wings Sued by Canadian Competitor

Wild Wing Restaurants, from Ontario, recently filed a trademark lawsuit against the sports bar chain.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal is reporting that Ontario-based Wild Wing Restaurants is suing Buffalo Wild Wings in a name dispute.

The Canadian company alleges that the St. Louis Park-based Buffalo Wild Wings chain — which recently started construction on its first Canadian restaurant — will confuse customers with its name. The Business Journal reports that Wild Wing Restaurants first opened in 1999 and registered its name as a Canadian trademark in 2003.

Wild Wing Restaurants is seeking $1.5 million in damages from the suit, according to the journal.
