Rate SLP Businesses and Claim Your Listing

See that tab above that says "places?" It's a directory of local businesses and it's a resource for everyone.

When St. Louis Park Patch launched in November 2010, editors and contributors ventured to local businesses to collect information for our directory. The result: Patch Places.

Patch Places is the spot to find descriptions, hours, accepted payment methods and more for spots around town. And there are two main ways to get engaged with this directory—owners can claim their listings, while customers can rate their favorite businesses.

How to Claim a Listing

Each listing has some general info and pictures of the business—but if you own or manage the business, you can claim the listing and take it further.

Claiming the listing will give you a bit more administrative access to the listing. You'll be able to add photos, as well as details we may have missed and other information.

So how do you claim your listing? It’s easy! Click on your business in the directory and on the right-hand side of the screen, you’ll see an icon that says “Do you own or manage this location? Claim it!" Click that link, enter the required information and submit. See the video above for more on claiming a listing.

How to Rate a SLP Business

If you don't own a local business, you can still help your favorite local shops, eateries and companies by giving them five-star ratings. Or if you had a bad experience with a business, you can leave a low rating. You can also post reviews. You'll see a rating field and a comment box with every listing in the directory. Just make sure you're a registered Patch user before you try to post anything.
