A new trendy eco-minded home store in St. Louis Park recently opened their doors.
Ciel Loft & Home, located at 4416 Excelsior Blvd., encourages shoppers on their Facebook page to "Be one of the cool kids who can say I was there when it was just getting started."
Staff says items for purchase are really authentic, design-quality furniture and accessories at a price middle America can afford. Although the home accessories and furniture sold are for an American audience, products are sourced from around the world.
Here's a sample: bins from farmhouses in Tibet and China are repurposed for home storage, ceiling panels from a church in Harlem have been transformed into deco wall hangings and reclaimed wood from Europe serves as banquet tabletops.
The store opened Dec. 1 after preparing the displays for some time.
"It opened just last week, but local owner Andy Higgins and his partner in China have been gearing up for this for months—and it shows, in their polished displays and deep assortment," wrote Allison Kaplan in a Mpls.-St. Paul Magazine blog.
Kaplan added that the Ciel's niche looks to be imported farmhouse antiques at gentle prices.
And here's Thursday on Facebook for Ciel: "Open 'til 8 tonight! Wine & Cheese after 6. Its a beautiful place to spend some time."
