The Allied Vendor of the Year award is presented to an Allied member of the Minnesota Lodging Association that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the industry and community. For more than 100 years, AAA has been a part of America’s love affair with the automobile and travelers love the information provided by AAA. As one of the world’s largest travel information publishers, AAA provides a variety of vacation planning tools including AAA TourBook® guides, TripTik® Travel Planner routings, AAA Diamond Rating evaluations, printed maps and more. AAA maintains a proprietary travel information database that covers the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. This database includes detailed listings with AAA approved diamond rated lodgings, restaurants, campgrounds, events and destinations. AAA’s allied membership in the Minnesota Lodging Association has been represented by Carol Johnson since 1993 and Johnson accepted the award on AAA’s behalf. She has been an active participant on committees and attends many industry events. Although Carol covers a five-state region, she has been supportive of the Association as well as charitable efforts by its members including Thanksgiving Meals on Wheels in the Twin Cities and the Global Soap Project.
