Join neighbors at the new Dakota Park shelter for a free family picnic. (Rain date is Thursday, August 25). This annual event typically brings out more than 100 people. Hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers and kosher dogs, along with all condiments, drinks, plates, napkins and "silverware" will be provided. You bring a side dish to share. Suggestions include chips, dips, vegetables, baked beans, pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, melon, Rice Krispie bars, cookies, brownies or whatever else you'd like to share! Power is available for those who wish to bring something in a crock pot. The popular moonwalk for children will be back along with face painting. This is a great time to relax, connect with your neighbors and meet some new people.
